This was previously used as an emergency shelter for skiers. Though it isn't suppose to be used for hikers, it suited us and other hikers just fine.

We met and shared a shelter with these three hikers, Hipbone, Mountain Goat (trail names), and Tanya a Russian student at
Penn State.

Cans of cool pop (soda) in a stream that crosses the trail. This is known as trail magic, food, beverages, or useful items left by unknown people for thru-hikers.

We received a package of dietary suppliments from Dr. Jim Hubbard and Juice Plus+®. They provided us with whole fruit and vegetable suppliments (for antioxidants), fiber, and protein
for the entire trip. Surprisingly, Marcus and I never got sick despite many other hikers experienceing some sort of sickness.

We swam out to an island in Upper Goose pond after a 20 mile day. It felt great. The small cabin we stayed in is watched by a caretaker who will cook pancakes for a donation.
